Software Freedom Day is a worldwide celebration of Free and Open Source Software and education of why transparent and sustainable technologies are now more important than ever.
This year, it's being celebrated on September 15, 2007. More than 200 teams in 60 countries will be celebrating on the same day. We invite you to be a part of this global celebration.
You might ask what exactly is Free and Open Source Software?
Free as in Freedom. Free Software gives you the freedom to run, copy, distribute and modify or improve it.
Open Source softwares are developed by programmers from all around the world through collaboration. Such softwares have their source code available to be studied and improved. They may or may not come with a price.
